Released in the year 1953, Anarkali was an instant box office hit, appealing millions nationwide with excellent settings, sequence and cinematography. It was a movie, well known for its brilliant casting, screenplay and direction by the famous director Nandlal Jashwantlal, who produced a perfect blend between the historical facts and fictions in presenting one of his greatest works of all times. The story in Anarkali was chosen from the life of the legendary dancing girl of Jallaluddin Muhammad Akbar's court, one of the greatest Mughal monarch who set a number of glorious examples in history.

The most popular song that were in the lips of many movie enthusiasts was the melodious: "Yeh Zindagi Usiki Hain", bringing the movie a huge fame after its release.
