Anil Kapoor played the role of Arun Verma alias Mr India, who was the main protagonist. Sridevi one of the famous Bollywood female actors was casted as Seema Sohini, a journalist by profession and Mr. India's love interest. Amrish Puri portrayed the role of Mogambo, the tyrant general who aimed to acquire India by his evil deeds. Annu Kapoor was casted as the chairman of a newspaper office. Satish Kaushik portrayed the role of Calendar, who was a cook. Aftab Shivdasani plays the role of an orphan kid staying with Arun.

Mr India was one of the blockbuster hits at the Bollywood box office. The film was produced by Boney Kapoor, who is the brother of Anil Kapoor. Mr India was directed by one of the most renowned directors, Shekhar Kapoor.
About Mr India
Mogambo, the main villainous character in the movie wants to take over India by spreading terror and drugs. Teja and Daga were the two henchmen involved in the activities of selling armaments to the different terrorist groups. They even operate gambling dens in India. Both of these partners in crime help Mogambo to get hold of power to rule the Indians. Mogambo lives in a secluded and self ruled island from where he controls all the activities.
Arun Verma is an orphan and a violinist who rents a large size house besides a beach. About a dozen of orphan children of the age of 6-12 live with him. Calendar is the cook and also the caretaker living in the house of Arun. Arun is quite poor and is always under the debts of the local food vendor Maniklal. Although he is in the midst of difficulties but still Arun is quite optimistic and humorous.
Due to urgent need of money Arun decides to rent a portion of the house to Seema, who is a journalist. The film reaches an interesting point as Arun gets a letter from Dr. Sinha. Arun meets him and comes to know that his father was a great scientist and had invented a gadget that would enable a person to become invisible. Arun gets hold of the gadget and the child named Jugal only knows about it. Seema comes to know that Daga and Teja are throwing a lavish party. She under the guise of a dancer goes to the party but eventually gets caught. Arun comes to rescue her being the invisible Mr. India. Soon after this Seema falls in love with him. Many events follow one after another and finally Mr. India meets Mogambo. After a prolonged fight sequence Mogambo dies in fires.
